York County Warrant Records York County Warrant Records

Need to check on a York County municipal warrant? Call the court that issued it. That is the one office with the answer. The municipal clerk keeps city cases, including failure-to-appear records, while the Clerk of Court handles General Sessions matters. A city warrant can hide from the Sheriff's selected list, so do not rely on that page alone. Municipal warrants in York County often grow out of traffic tickets, ordinance violations, or a missed court date. Have your ticket or case number handy, then ask the clerk which step applies: payment, an appearance, or a recall.

York County Municipal Court Warrants

York County's five incorporated municipal courts handle city ordinance and qualifying state-law matters, including traffic and missed court dates. A city judge may issue a bench or arrest warrant for a case within that court's jurisdiction. The paperwork and clerk stay with the city court even when a county agency later helps serve it.

A York County Public Index search or YCSO Top 10 page may not show every municipal warrant. Ask the city clerk about a personal citation or case, then contact the Sheriff's Warrants Unit only when the court says the Sheriff is handling service.

Each city has its own clerk and local process. The South Carolina Judicial Branch directory lists the municipal court venues; the York County court map does not collapse them into one warrant counter. The contacts below are starting points for the court printed on a ticket.

York County Municipal Courts and Warrants

Rock Hill, Fort Mill, Tega Cay, Clover, and York each maintain a municipal court. A case outside those city venues may belong to a township magistrate or General Sessions. Match the court name and address on the citation before using an online payment link or calling a clerk.

Fort Mill's York County Warrant Sessions

Fort Mill Municipal Court meets Wednesdays at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The clerk schedules jury trials, processes warrants, handles docket transactions, and hears qualifying municipal and state-law cases. Its headquarters and court now share Town Hall at 205 North White Street after the police move in April 2025.

If the ticket is actually a county magistrate matter, Fort Mill Magistrate is a different court at 120 East Elliott Street. The city clerk, not the police front desk, is the first call about municipal warrant status or court payment.

Fort Mill Municipal Court's official page lists its contact and payment links.

York County Municipal Warrant Search

Start with the city named on the paper. Rock Hill offers Municipal Online Services for citation and arrest-warrant-number searches. Fort Mill's clerk processes warrants but no public warrant form was located. Tega Cay, Clover, and York direct readers to their court pages and clerks rather than a full name-search database.

  1. Read the trial-court name and address on the ticket.
  2. Use the city's official payment or citation portal if the court provides one.
  3. Call that municipal clerk with the name and citation or case number.
  4. If service is the question, ask whether city police or the Sheriff's Unit has the warrant.
  5. For a county misdemeanor or traffic case, call the township magistrate instead.

York County Municipal Warrant Ticket Addresses

Clover's court FAQ gives a clear example: a ticket naming 114 Bethel Street belongs to Clover Municipal Court, while “Sexton, 201 South Main Street” identifies the Clover/Bethel Township Magistrate. The two offices handle different dockets even though both relate to the same town.

For a city ticket, ask the municipal clerk about the FTA, any bond, and the next appearance. For the magistrate address, call the township court. A city resident can have a county case, so do not route by home address alone.

Read Clover's official court FAQ for its ticket-address instructions.

York County Municipal Warrant FOIA Requests

South Carolina's Freedom of Information Act provides public-record access subject to exemptions. A request for a city warrant record goes to the municipality that keeps the file; the requester should identify the court, citation, and record sought. Juvenile, sealed, privileged, or active-investigation material may be withheld or redacted.

Read the official South Carolina FOIA text for its access, fees, and exemption provisions.

The statute sets the statewide framework; each municipal records custodian handles requests for its own files.

Tega Cay's York County Warrant Payment Rule

Tega Cay says fines are due in full on sentencing day. The court links an online card route and accepts money orders or cashier's checks by mail or in person at its administrative address. Its published instruction is explicit: no cash payments. Call the clerk to learn whether a citation can be paid without appearing.

The court also asks people to bring identification, the citation, court papers, receipts, and proof of compliance. Failure to appear or follow an order can lead to a warrant. These instructions belong to Tega Cay and should not be copied onto another city's process.

Review Tega Cay's official court directions.

York County Municipal Warrant Resolution

Call the issuing city clerk before sending payment or appearing. Ask whether the judge requires a reset, recall motion, payment, bond, or personal appearance. Rock Hill has its own portal; Clover describes cash-bond and mail options; Fort Mill, Tega Cay, and York use their own court channels. No citywide fee or recall form applies to every case.

  1. Confirm the court, citation, warrant status, and exact amount.
  2. Ask whether payment, a bond, a reset, or a judge's recall order is required.
  3. Use the city's allowed method; Tega Cay does not accept cash.
  4. Keep the receipt and ask the clerk when the warrant update will appear.

Warning: Online payment or a fine receipt may not recall an existing warrant by itself. Ask the issuing judge or clerk what action closes the FTA.
